Alternative to Vinyl

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between Integrity's Ultrex and the Competitors Vinyl Products? Well, the comparison below will clarify why Ultrex is the best solution for your home, and why vinyl just can’t stand up!

Vinyl and Vinyl/Wood Composite (Fibrex®)

Vinyl has a high rate of expansion and contraction and can get soft and brittle with changing temperatures. This can lead to sagging headers, seal failures, stress cracks, and poor operation. Vinyl /wood composites are 60% vinyl infused with wood fibers and struggle from the same durability and performance issues as their vinyl counterparts.

 Ultrex® Pultruded Fiberglass

 Ultrex® Pultruded Fiberglass

Integrity windows and doors are built with Ultrex, a highly durable, state-of-the-art, patented, pultruded fiberglass material that significantly outlasts and outperforms vinyl and vinyl/wood composites in virtually every way. The pioneering technology benefits from 20 years of proven performance in the field.

Tough. Long-Lasting Unblemished.

Ultrex® is a Patented Pultruded Fiberglass Material Pioneered by Marvin®

Ultrex is made by taking thin strands of strong glass cables and saturating them with specifically compounded resins. It is then capped with a patented extruded finish. This material was developed by Marvin and brings 20 years of unmatched experience, tooling, and component optimization to every Integrity® product.

Ultrex has virtually all the characteristics you'd want in a material used to make doors and windows. It's super strong, rigid, and has a low thermal expansion rate. It's heat resistant, non-corrosive, and has low conductivity for superior energy efficiency. In addition, Ultrex has a smooth finish that's resistant to dings and cracks, and stays beautiful over time.

Strength that will Never Let You Down

Ultrex® is as Strong as Steel.

It is 8 times stronger than vinyl and three times stronger than vinyl/ wood composites. What this really means is that windows and doors built with Ultrex stay true and square with no racking through delivery and installation. Windows and doors built with Ultrex don't break under stress and maintain their operation, energy efficiency, performance, and longevity. Ultrex delivers from day one and over the long haul. This strength also means that Ultrex will be able to reduce the thickness of the frames which allows for increased glass surface area. Ultimately this yields a bigger view!

Beauty that Lasts.

Ultrex Provides a Superior Consistent Finish.

AAMA 624-10 verified, the Ultrex finish performs so well that it is even offered it in dark colors like Ebony. Without fear we are able to guarantee that our dark colors will not degrade due to the heat of UV rays. Integrity’s patented high performance co-extruded capping process is unlike anything else in the industry. It provides a thick even acrylic finish free of pin holes, striations and imperfections that will resist scratches, fading, and chalking.
